Contact Cutting Edge at (240) 538-5443 to make individual arrangements for items other than those listed above or amounts in excess of that defined above.

Contact the Directors if you would like to view the trash collection contract.

Homeowners may also haul their own waste to the residential convenience center or landfill, both of which are on St. Andrews Church Rd. Doing so does not absolve a homeowner from paying Association fees. You must first obtain a permit. The convenience center is free. Landfill fees are $10 for the first 1/4 ton and $65 per ton for amounts greater than 1/4 ton. Click HERE for more information.

Mosquito Control:

The Association cooperates with the Maryland Department of Agriculture Mosquito Control Program to spray for mosquitos. This service is typically provided from June until September.

When an agricultural inspector determines that spraying is necessary, an ultra low volume application of permethrin mixed with piperonyl butoxide and mineral oil is sprayed at a rate of 0.003 lbs/acre between 6PM and midnight. Spraying is not done if it is raining, winds exceed 10 mph, or if the temperature is above 90 degrees.

Snow Removal:

The Association contracts with Cutting Edge Lawn Maintenance, LLC for the removal of snow from our side streets. Hickory Nut and Poplar Wood Drives are Priority 3 county roads which are plowed by the St. Mary's County Department of Public Works & Transportation. Information about county snow plowing operations can be obtained by calling the Division of County Highways at (301) 863-8400.

Plowing of our side streets is initiated within 24-hours after a snow fall accumulation of 2" or greater. Sand is applied after plowing if necessary.

Homeonwers are encouraged to set range poles along driveway and road boundaries, particularly if there is no curb, to guide the plow and help prevent damage to lawns and landscaping.

Contact the Directors if you would like to view the Snow Removal contract.

Spring Clean-up:

Each Spring the Association coordinates a clean-up of the common areas, typically initiated from the playground. It contracts a truck with a chipper/shredder to process and remove the cleared and consolidated debris that has accumulated throughout the neighborhood (downed branches, cleared brush, etc.).

Homeowners are also encouraged to clear their lots of debris and take advantage of the services contracted by the Association. The truck and chipper/shredder can not be easily backed up on the smaller side streets thus you are asked to stage your debris for chipping/shredding on Hickory Nut or Poplar Wood Drives.

Dates and details for the Spring Clean-up are posted on the Calendar.
